Palomar 8950 Type Amp "GIMMICK"
I picked up a Palomar 310m and it would not fire up when keyed. I traced the issue to a component listed on the schematic as a "GIMMICK". Sounds like this clarifier was very fast and touchy. That pot was needed to get accurate control of it. I like to take them out to 6KHz each directional 1/3,,,1/3 is dead at the bottom of the stock pots due to the stops. Not exactly but close enough for this reply. PALOMAR SKIPPER 300 ???
I have seen this relay chatter problem in solid state amps. All I can tell you is that it (I believe) has something to do with the balancing of the input load. I corrected it on a few amps by using an input jumper of differing length. Also you may want to try coiling the input line in 4" or...- Melee401
