i have a 148 cobra that seems to have what sounds like ac ripple in the am/ssb audio.. i have swapped out power supplies with 3 different supplies and the 148 still has the rippling sound in the audio...it's more predominate in the ssb but is there on am as well...this is with a stock cobra mike...

i have a emperor 5010 that i need to de-tune on sideband..assuming the radio is unmolested, other than the frequency mod. by using vr 103 ssb power, will i be able to bring the ssb power output down below 20 watts pep? preferably below 18 watts? my plan was to use a small 2 pill amp..bout...
i have a emperor 5010 that i wanted to make a microphone adapter for...what i run into is as soon as i plug a mic plug into the mic jack,be it wired or not, the radio starts changing frequencies......this is 1 radio i dont have much experience with ...any help would be great.
