can anyone help me to set the cathode current on 8950 tubes? This is 1 preamp driver and 2 drivers driving 6. Looks like all are jumped from pin 2 and pin 6. But has the adjustment just under the preamp driver, white square looking with a metal flathead screw....thanks for any help.

I dont really know what you mean-by odd number!...I did check them on a tube tester and 5 were checked at 80%+ 2 were at 35% and 1 was dead, not even light-up. what would you do? all I need is 4, and I had these other 6lf6 tubes,that checked at 85% just a few laying around..........thanks for...

I have been doing some researce,and I see if not mistaken. I can take a 8950 tube and exchange the heater pins 1 & pin 12 from the socket,and place a 6lf6 in and use it in place of the 8950! 6LF6 is just a broke down verson of the 8950 but at 6 volts........any thoughts

I maybe incorrect, but these are no drive amps! I have the 10 & 12 tuber. Thats about right on the PEP, if it were me, I would swap the week final tube & use one of the driver tubes...but bleed the tubes down first. Just my thoughts. NEVER drive a 6lq6 with more than 5 watts.
