In theory, it should lower the takeoff angle of your signal, so you should get better distance. I also plan to setup a dipole antenna close enough to the ground so that it'll work with NVIS.
I don't think I ever had one without the GPK. It hasn't been up on the roof in several years, I need to get back up on the roof and install a few more antennas. I have the A99, a G5RV Lite, 2 dual band 2m/70cm and a 1.25m antenna to get installed. I really need a tower, though. I'd like to...

Looks pretty neat. Though, having the ability to adjust the talkback level and other things without the software would be nice. But, I get that they were going for a classic look radio.
Yeah, I know... but you can hook it up like a mobile rig. I know HT's are really short range, but you can get some longer telescopic antennas that work quite a bit better.

I install NMO mounts in my vehicles. Tram/Browning, Larsen, PCTel/Maxrad all make 11/10 meter base loaded antennas. I've had good luck with both the Browning and PCTel antennas. Clean install. Add a weather cap to keep water out if you have to take the antenna off. I also use Tram 1180...
Those values will vary from radio to radio. That's how they tune for the tolerance in every part in the radio. I know I wrote mine down, and stuck them in the box... will have to dig those out.
Yea, I get it. Though, I was looking at it as an enhancement to his product line that he could offer to everyone that uses his mounts with a screwdriver antenna. And, I see a lot of people using screwdriver antennas.
