Yaesu FT-1802
Most Yaesu 2mFM radios will only transmit on freq settings from 144.105 to 147.995. This keeps the FM deviation from going out of band. Actually, I count two, but only one you can easily measure. There is the impedance transition between the tranceiver and feedline (the one you can measure) and the one between the feedline and the antenna (the one you adjust). The quarter wave groundplane should work very well, with a minimum of trouble. It will have the same gain as a dipole, but should have a very consistent omni-directional pattern if mounted with nothing around it.
