The Myth Surrounding Antenna Take Off Angles

And Wavrider, here are two quotes from two other separate posts in this thread alone. They are rather sarcastic. 'Oh boy. There you go again, tilting at our 11M windmills. You said it yourself in another post, something like "Normal laws of physics don't apply in the 11M band"' And...

    Quad feeds

I agree with the four, but since I am feeding about 100ohms, quarter wave stub suits of coarse. With the 1:1 balun, I know that this is technically correct, however due to power handling/heat dissipation for my situation, I think the choke that I use comes out on top at the possible sacrifice of...

The Myth Surrounding Antenna Take Off Angles

I don't have to quote the entire post, the radio you are using has nothing to do with it, that's why I said it is a constant.

    Quad feeds

I use a two element quad on 11m and have fed it with a quarter wave 75ohm matching stub and a choke. I find it works quite well, the bandwidth is a little narrow because of the stub, but this may be of advantage too. Impedance is 56ohms at the centre frequency, around 60 at either end of the...

The Myth Surrounding Antenna Take Off Angles

I know this is an old post, but what's with the continual criticism of CB radio? A few posts here ridicule that CBers seem to think they can elude physics. This post is hypocritical as he mentions 'crappy cb radios'. I don't see what this has to do with it, the discussion is about take of angle...

    Steer your Antennas

No, but my mouth's watering. Thanks for all the great replies. I've been feeding them some scraps from the vegie patch and now I'm their best friend. Luckily they have the mulberry tree for all their back scratching needs. They'd be good for a high power dummy load I reckon too.

    Steer your Antennas

I have some Angus steers that like to hang around my antenna for some reason. Do you think the rf will make their meat more tender?

CERTAIN HF$ NEVER HEARD ON 11METERS

If you want to talk on 11m and affordably, buy a cb radio.

what is your vswr at the antenna?

I hate it when people graffiti my posts.

what is your vswr at the antenna?

Let's go back to some basics. VSWR is a measurement based on the lowest voltage on the feedline compared to the highest voltage on the feedline... or visa versa.
