Not really Co-phase more out of phase question
I'm considering doing this as the models look so promising.

Use a relay and an extra 1/4 wavelength section of 75 ohm coax so that one antenna is fed through a 1/4 wavelength section and the other through two 1/4 wavelength...
Don't know if this is what your after but..
Try this: the third from the right button across the top of the main menu is "matching networks" open that then in the upper right corner is a button "stub match " click that and I think you will find what you are after. I'm not sure if it adds the...
Separation distances are affected by the type of antenna (according to the models I've built/tested. I wouldn't try to give a rule of thumb for all types.
I always wondered about those super scanners so I built a model to test it and others I remember seeing.
With a modeling program you can...
Faulty logic
The military, commercial radio towers and cell phone makers want omnidirectional reception not directionality.
For these applications the user would have to face the tower, ship or plane to benefit from the higher gain. And radio towers would leave half the audience in a null...
Tv antenna are already exempt
Captain Kilowatt
The FCC has overruled the HOA Natzis in regard to TV antennas (One meter or less).
Amen
If everyone refused to sign the agreement( even if that means not buying the house) when the house was new the HOAs would not exist.
On the other...
Don't confuse ignorance and stupidity
So my question would be regarding the connector.
I was insulted at first by this and had to restrain my impulse to post a scathing retort, but as I reread I don't think it was meant as an insult.
Maybe it is meant more as a statement of unneeded...
First thanks for your advice/input
This seams reasonable and the apparent general consensus (even if stated slightly differently)
Does anyone know what the impedance is at 27MHz?
Just curious.
Part of the reason I considered this option is I have a 40 foot piece of LMR-400 with N male...
Hi Booty, thanks for the wecome BTW.
I didn't measure anything. I have no way to measure the reactive part.
I got the info from the wikipedia page on pl-259 connectors.
I just discovered this.
The SO-239/ PL-259 connector on the back of virtually all CB's suffers from an impedance problem?
In the center of the connector the impedance is ~30-40 ohms.
Is this true at 26-30 MHz ?
How is this not ~equal to a SWR of ~1.6:1 before the signal even gets to the...
may have been slow to update my page
Try again It seems to work for me.
to load them into 4NEC2 copy and paste into a text file, rename the text file to sigma4var.nec save it in the models subfolder of NEC, then open 4nec2 click on the folder icon (right below "file")
and browse to find the...
page3 gone
All links lead back to main forum?
Il posted the sigma4 model on my site with my other models here

sigma 4 model
I don't know what to call it either and Ive not modeled a j-pole so.....
I made a mistake in the previous model it only has 3 radials instead of 4.So it's more of 3/4 ground plane (with adjustable angled radials)
Saw very little effect in adding the fourth one.
The circle does...
I realize with 27 MHz the ground is harder to get away from
but most of the models I've converted from free space to over ground
had very similar patterns just tilted up and with higher gain.
I saw a "discussion" about best vertical antenna and if the up.swept radials are a ground plane...
Wow I sparked a debate.
B Monster: no program or simulation is going to take all the infinite little variables that make up your location and trying is an exercise in futility.
But that's the point if I want to directly compare antennas I get rid of extra variables and go to free space...
4nec2
I use 4nec2 it is best free modeling program I've found. I've been playing with it for about a year and a half now.
It should come with an addictive program warning
I recently remembered all the strange looking CB antennas I remember seeing pop up during the 70s craze and thought...
