Is there a replacement for the 2 digit display on the DX979 that can change from red and blue? I love the intense blue during the day, but it is oppressively bright at night in the mobile, even with the dimmer turned down.

Never seen a bad "sucky" dipole. As long as it has been aligned correctly for resonance and impedance, they all perform about the same.

If you have you have your modulation pot turned up all the way and the 2018 EXTREME mic at full volume, with a fresh battery in it, you shouldn't be clear.
