It could be several different problems but you can narrow them down.
Does every channel seem to be off frequency by about the same amount?
Does this frequency offset change when pressing in the +10kc switch?
Does the problem seem the same for AM, USB and LSB?
Does the frequency shift from...
The NB alignment on the older 148GTL is very close to the Galaxy radios.
All you need for test equipment is a signal generator and a voltmeter.
Set the generator up for 1000uv at 27.205mhz (ch. 20)
Set radio to channel 21 (10kc from generator frequency).
Make sure RF Gain on radio is set to...
First check that you don't accidentally have the coax connectors on the back of the unit reversed.
Might be Q1, the keying transistor.

In the early days there was some confusion on what to label this button "LOW AM" which was actually designed to pad the input with a 100 ohm resistor when SSB was used. Pressing the button in also engaged the SSB delay cap which is very annoying on AM. On later models the orange "LOW AM" button...
ASW pasted the crystal change for the DX99V which has eight bands. Far as I know all the alignment information for the DX2517 is correct. If you have a specific question on some area I be happy to double check.
Some alignments will differ between the DX2517 with transistors and the DX2517 with...
Hey Jeff,
I'm thinking that's not the right info for the DX2517 since it's only a 6 band model. Here's the same answer I gave this guy over at CBT for the same question.
Leave the radio jumpers as they are.
Replace the 14.010mhz mixer crystal with a 15.360mhz crystal
This will give you...
As some of you know the old DX33HML went out of production on Nov. 2006 and later replaced with the new DX33HP model. The only real changes made was the switch over to IRF520 mosfets, heavier AM modulator (2SB827) and blue leds. One characteristic of the IRF520 mosfet is the higher gain (hFE) at...
200 watts is the safe zone. The DX98VHP will run about 250 watts full smoke but not for very long. You'll soon hear a loud pop, smell some smoke and then be calling me on the phone.

Sure wish connex and general would get off their lazy butts and offer some tech support for their own products.
To dim the channel display locate jumper J303 on the channel display pcb and replace it with a 1K ohm 1/4 watt resistor.
Bright enough for day time and not too piercing at...
The 50 watt deadkey is too high causing excessive heat for the DX94HP.
The max deadkey should be set internally with VR14 to approx. 30-35 watts.
Next using a test tone into the mic jack with MIC GAIN set to max. adjust VR16 for 100-120 watts.
Then set your RF PWR control to minimum...
