I am selling the Cobra 29 LX because it is just not my thing. I installed a mosfet and was seeing about 30 watts on my Astatic meter. The receive needs to be aligned because I tuned the wrong pot after I installed the mosfet and was retuning the power. I did have the stinger in there but took it...

Been doin Am only here lately on Cobra 29's. I have a Galaxy 959 that I use SSB on but it is not working at the moment.

From all accounts I have heard you really need the right equipment to set it up properly.

I built one out of a piece of 1/2" copper pipe. Use two copper caps and drill holes in each cap and solder bolts in them then solder the caps to the piece of pipe then use 2 unions and there you go. You can put it together first and adjust accordingly.

If it is working of course it is worth it. I got my 102 from radio shack. You will probably want to get a spring or adjuster for it to be able to set your swr's correctly. I believe MFJ also makes a 108" whip you might look into as well. Something else to consider is your coax. Get the best...

In that situation a 102" whip would be the best IMO. You will be the best talker with your buddies for sure. Maybe even upgrade to a Cobra 25 or 29. You can find one of those Army strong 29's for less than 100 bucks around if you do some searchin. The 102 will take a beatin for sure. I would get...
