    The Good and the Bad

Well, it's transmitting but, on channel 20 I can't get it to pop any higher than 27.185. I keep finding jumpers across stuff. One even jumps off of the Xtal. If somebody comes up with a solder-side photo, it'll be a life-saver. I don't think most of these jumps on the bottom are supposed to be...

    The Good and the Bad

I won't even get into the fact that the tech replaced the five-pin mic plug for a four-pin Cobra. Evidently, this was a 'Truckstop Tech'.

First, the good! The 2000GTL is here and trouble free! It's been tuned(Nothing cut), two-switch channelling, unlocked Clarifier. Everything was well-done and easily recognizable Wired a Turner +3 to it and ran some SSB today. Did very well. Nothing to do and nothing will be done on this radio...

Help troubleshoot mosfet install in a Uniden 78/Cobra 29?

That's a good way to Mod.kit the 25/66 and the 76/29 radios. I use a 470uf at 25V and usually a 30 ohm, 1/4watt resister. gives a 1-1/2watt DK and a ton of superfast modulation. Just breath hard into the mic and it slams a modulation needle. Drive low DK boxes like no tomorrow. Don't forget to...

Looking for a mint Turner desk mic Plus 3B model

Oh, little secret, the four wire +3 mic cord has to be changed for five pin mics like the cobra and Uniden mics. The +3 mic cord is four wire;Shield, audio Xmit, rcv. You can wire this to a five pin mic plug but a lot of times you'll get keyoff squeel. The trick is to replace the existing cord...
