I was thinking of getting one with the metal cord and then I felt how heavy it was and figured it would put much strain on the radio plug end. Also since I go in to mines and gravel pits where the roads are about as smooth as a mine field I did want to get hit in the head all the time.

the brown is positive, the black wire at 11 o clock is ground, the wire with the 6.8 uf capacitor shows positive and the other one shows positive also. but less volts

I would look at the wiring in the mic see if someone or your self can take off the end and make sure all wires are attached then look behind the back cover to make sure the wires are connected there. look on cb tricks to see if it is wired right. If all that checks out it might be a loose wire...
