I think that he's going to recess the tube socket 1/4 inch or so and pressurise the bottom, he's also machinening a aluminum heat sink plate cap. There will also be fan fed cooling on top directed towards the glass tube. Glass Chimney could be in future.
He has access to "The Feeding And...
Yup,
That's a 2 KW PEP amp but, the only problem would be finding tubes for it if your ever needed them.
NEW TUBE = GE M2057 / M-2057 = NOS ~ 8950 = USA - eBay (item 190061147939 end time Dec-23-09 09:24:31 PST)

The parts most likely to fail are the power transistors located on the rear of the amp, they are PNP switching transistors used to supply the transformer mounted next to the tube.
The variable capacitor marked "TUNE" appears to be your Antenna Load and the Plate Tune is located on the bottom...
This is a view from the bottom with his choke mounted at the junction of the output coax and Antenna Load tuner.
The Antenna X-fer relay is not installed yet.
.
This is called, "The Law of Supply and Demand"
Supply is down = PWD going out of business
Demand is constant = We need X-formers custom built.
Price gougers have a FIELD DAY!
Yea or Nay?
.
Only if the tubes were strung in parallel, not series would this be true.
.
ETA: And fed with 20 volts each tube from a 20 volt power supply (Do Not parallel 20lf6 tubes across a 120 volt line), but you knew that already, right?
.
Nope, I believe that your understanding of Ohm's law is a little off.
The current (amps) in a purely series circuit is the same when measured anywhere within the series circuit. Voltage drops across loads in a purely series circuit combine to equal the total applied voltage.
Current is...
A young friend of mine (dare I say my understudy) has take on a tube amplifier project, this is his first tube amplifier project.
He has decided to build a single 3-500z Desktop amplifier with a B+ supply located outboard in another case.
He does his own work according to his plans and, I...
