ditto. i figured there would be some differences between the antennas based on the size of the coils, # of turns, etc... but that was just conjecture on my part (i'm the farthest thing from an engineer you can imagine).
i was kinda surprised to see that the skipshooter held it's own against...
maybe the general population might be seeing a decline in cb radios, but for the really serious about it, the numbers might remain the same.
at least here locally, back in the 1980s, everyone had a pretty good shot at being heard on the 11 channel. some guys had power, some guys had lots...
some of the real old-timers i used to know in the early-mid 1980s are either dead or in prison. others moved on to ham radio, and tried to get me to do the same but i just don't have the $$$ even for a cheap 2m HH (i'd rather spend the money on my son's tuition and sports).

get the antenna you want/need the first time. don't cheap out or "just settle", or you will eventually end up with the one you wanted anyway. the rest will end up just collecting dust in the garage.
