This is where you are wrong. Fact is that the only reason the FCC cares about the Ranger 10 meter radios is because they are cheaper than Kenwood, Yaesu and ICOM. If all radios were the same price, you would find all freebanders using Kenwoods, ICOMs and Yaesu radios. It is not a question of...
What are these guys thinking? Reducing CB power will just drive more people to use Amateur equipment on CB. Raise the power for CB, less people will buy Amateur and less will be using it out of the CB band.
You need it in California and many states, since it is illegal to use your cell while driving. I have a bluetooth speaker for the visor, but it causes a lot of noise on my CB.
My definition of "export" radios is radios that do not meet FCC regulations, and are imported for purposed of exporting them to a country where the radios are legal. Some countries use different frequencies for CB than the US does. Others require FM for CB. If one imports a radio designed for...
Well, I guess so depending on what you mean by "export" but if someone imports it and doesn't "export" it, then it could be considered smuggling. Don't think anyone wants to get arrested for that, just to save a few dollars.
Frankly, I never in my wildest imagination thought the FCC would be stupid enough to file a case in court where the legality of the radios could be litigated. I figured they would just issue fines to scare off the big truck stops, while the small shops just continued to sell and ignore the...
The FCC can issue a forfeiture but that does not mean it has to be paid. It only has to be paid if the FCC goes to court and proves the violation. I have never lost to the FCC in court. If someone received a NAL or forfeiture from the FCC, you really need to make them prove it in court.
My clients are Jim, Don and Ed, and Mark. Those of you who are knowledgeable about the industry know who I am. I have the go ahead to sue if I want. Ebay is about money, and if they are looking at paying a lot they will change their policy.
So again, if you received a notice from Ebay...
Nope. I have two court cases stating the Connex and Galaxy 10 meters are legal. One case, the court held the FCC list of illegal radios is not a valid basis for saying the radios are illegal and that the Connex is not "easy to modify." The other case, the FCC stated that it no longer claims...
