    What does everyone think about the Galaxy dx-959

    I love mine, but I bought it from Pronto CB in Omaha. For a premium they went trough Transmit and Receive and set it up right. It's a boomer on TX and Rx is better than any radio I had. My stand alone freq counter shows no drift at all. The stock Mic is crap!

    Yea it was built long before Carl left X-Force. If Ido anything with it I'll send it to Him for repair. Just don't know if a unit this old is worth it. Everything has a useful service life and nothing last forever.

    No smoke, it's only puts about half power and getting high SWR back to radio. Bought it used like 20 years ago figured I got my money's worth. Time for new equipment.

    Thanks guys. Been driving an X-Force 40012 with a Magna Force 100. But the old X-Force quit and the Magna can't last forever. Was looking to save a few bucks but you have reinforced my initial logic.

    Going to buy a new 1x4 base amp. Don't know what to expect from HG pills. Need opinion on 2290 or 2879 to drive 4 2879;s. Radios are a Galaxy DX959 mod will turn down to 1w, or stock RCI 69 BASE.
