hows come the swr on a external is almost always bad n the swr on a internal is almost always good ?

another point on 2970n2 over 2950 with external amp..seems you allways hear of people having trouble with the swr when running a external amp and harmonics but you never hear of anyone having trouble with the swr on a internal amp like the n2 and galaxzy 95,s ....

what would be the difference between a ham or cb amp ?

whats known as one of the best amps for audio quality ssb ?

just a update,,bob has had the radio for a week now,his guy said they were back logged with radios..soon as he can get and diagnose it i,ll let ya know..meanwhile i,ll set here an whistle the jeaporty tune..

cables i have the n2 and realy liked it till it blew,,i just sent it back to bobs cb in pa. i dont know if its the same bob that has something to do with this forum or not though..hopefully he can fix it so doesnt happen again..i,ve had external amps befor n they were ok but didnt like all the...

Exit13..talked to bob n he said send it in..hate to do it though,,seems strange a radio would cut out 10 minutes after i stopped talkin on it but what are you gonna do ? ,i,ll proubly send it back to bobs tomorrow but im gonna fax ranger first to see if they got ideas i can try at home tonight....

thanks guys,,i,ll ship er off..i guess the worst can happen is sell it for parts....i realy miss this radio,,i run it with a turner plus 3 n got nothing but good reports plus with the extra power helps with the skip conditions now....

Fodendaf....how do you power direct if u cut the leads ? Oncebitten..i do have two boston terriers that love to chew in fact they chewed a hole through our drywall..the cables are pretty big in diameter n didnt notice anything when i disconnected the radio but i,ll look again..

yep,,talked for 10 minutes or so then watched tv for 10 minutes n looked around n she,s gone....i would of thought it was just a fuse till i felt how hot the ps was....anybody got any ideas why the ps heated up then quit heating up with a different radio on ?

i bought the radio from bobs cb in penn. the warrenty is past due..i called him n he said to ship it back for a look but he didnt give me any ideas what mite be wrong untill he see,it..if no good i guess i,ll just take it back and sell it for parts on ebey....the swr was fine n i never ran it...

if its fried i dont want to pay to send it to the shop..2970n2 went completly black and no sound at all 10 minutes after i quit txing on it..also noticed the power supply was getting real hot which it never did befor after this happened..after i turned the radio off awhile the power supply...

Jeff..was told when bought the amp it originaly did 4-600 watts but only does bout 250 now..opened it up n it had 4 toisba pills inside..was told by a local a couple of the pills must be burned out n maybe thats the problem..just ordered a antenna tuner to see if that helps..

Funky,just talked to a guy on the radio n he said to open the amp n look for a coil that might have come loose by the antenna section so i,ll have a look n i,ll check in here later..thanks..

AUIDO,,its a home brew amp and does round 250 max..radio itself does bout 28 watts max,,its a mag delta force..its a high drive amp..the radio swr meter and the diamond sx 200 meter say the same for the swr..low power radio 6 watts high 11..
