Drifter,,do your meter lites dim on mod also ? a local here told me mebe my house wires werent big enough so i bought a 12 gauge 40 foot extension and ran it straight to the plug on the washing machine and still have the same problem..

Bob85..the ps has a 3 prong plug,,should the ps be grounded also..my radio,swr meter,n antenna are already grounded....

its a new ps but it gets realy hot on the bottom and the fan has never come on,the lites on the meters dim with a whistle on the mic ,even on low power of the radio..is this normal ? the radio is a 2970n2 200 watts. seen on the back of the ps a bolt 2 nuts and star washers and the word chassi by...

i must be gettin thin skined in my old age..just hooked up a fairly new rat shack radio i keep around here for legal purposes and its way noisier than the 2970n2..it did say in the manual that they did some improvments to the recieve..anyways,,im still lookin into a dsp speaker..

what would be a good brand of dsp speaker to help with white noise for 2970 ?

thanks DOC..since i had it laying around i went ahead and put it on..dont know if it does anything but it didnt hurt my swr any..i was thinkin that it mite clean the audio kinda like the oppisite of clipping the limiter..clipping the limiter splatters rf all over the isolater ought to be just...

yep,,i tried one years ago..guess what..it worked ..1to 1 1/2 s units better tx..i didnt check the rx..i drove out a few miles and had the wife dk me and checked the meter then drove back and changed the tips and drove back and checked again and it does work..it does make the a99 a little...

i got this awhile back but never used it..the one i wanted would of gone on the base of the antenna but appearently this one goes on the back of the radio..i just went ahead and put a coax choke at the base of the antenna..would it be advisable to put this one on the radio also ? whats the...

spotted a strange mobile antenna on a pickup truck yesterday..this thing was bout 5' tall,had a little top hat on it and about 1/4 way up from the base it had strange bulbous looking thing on it..the bulbous looking thing looked like a wire whisker like you use to beat eggs with for cooking..it...

you could always just ignore the problem an wear heavy chapstick..

that alunimium is somehow a better antenna than fibreglass which in fact a fibreglass antenna is actualy copper wire..
