No I did it out in the open. My Cobra was not working at all! I got an old Midland 77-838 and it worked fine. I was trying to set up a bad radio that I gust got Tuned UP. Now I have to eliminate the heater fan noise. I will not except anything but a CB Radio that works 100% in my truck. I have...
I will check it out first thing Sat. I ran the power line directly to one battery for the cb radio. Then I ran a ground to the inside fender to the cb radio. I will also run a ground to the antenna mount on the fender. Do I have to run a ground to the radio because it is installed to a plastic dash?
Thanks Switch Kit and you have a Merry Christmas also :D I changed radios and the noise is much better with this Midland I can barley here it now. There is a low pitch when I turn the blower on. I did not know what the Noise Canceling feature on the speaker was. I need a descent one. I see some...
I need an external speaker for my CB. I looked at the speaker that clips to the visor and one that has noise canceling. Can someone please tell me what they think? :?
A friend of mine gave me a CB to use until I get my Cobra repaired or replaced. This Midland radio has a volume control and channel selector buttons on the mike. I like this radio. Can anyone tell me anything about this radio. I like the more than my Cobra 25 LTD. 8)
I have a Fender Mount and a Hustler HQ-27 Antenna. The radio is grounded to the Chaise and the power line goes directly to my battery. I just put in my friends CB that I have until my Cobra can be fixed or replaced and the fan noise is the same. :? I guess I will have to purchase the filter to...
Thanks and you also have a good Holiday. It seems everything I do has a glitch! I guess I have to pay my dues. I got very disgusted today and a friend gave me an extra radio he put in the basement years ago but it work's! Now I know how to install an Antenna, how to install a Fire Ring Coax...
I spent $35.00 for an SWR meter and now I will not use it again until I change something? I will check it for antenna maintenance. From what I have read here the CB system that one install will be constantly reworked and improved. So it will be used more than I was thinking.
The Antenna is a Hustler HQ-27 New. Coax Cable Fire ring No Instructions with it got a photo on this forum to get an idea how it goes together! Ford F350 Diesel with a fender mount left side. The radio was about 6 -8 years old.
I got a CB from my friend to try and it worked just fine. My radio has internal problems time for a new one! :x I just had this checked out and spent almost $60 on it. :(
When I try to set the SWR I cut the tip to get the meter to read in the red ban. When I started it pegged the meter. Now it's getting higher. I can't get it to read under 5 how dose anyone get 1.0-1.5 readings. Is the location of the antenna the problem? Is my radio fried? This is so frustrating :x
When I installed mt Cobra in my truck I had to go and get a SWR meter. Then I was looking at that little meter on the left of my radio. I think is said SWR Meter but I can't be for sure because it's so small I cant read it! This is no use to me at all. The SWR meter I purchased from Radio Shack...
I have a 2005 F350 6.0 Diesel and the radio picks up no noise until I turn on the fan motor. I can here it pick up speed when I turn the fan up. Is there something that I can get to eliminate this noise? :?:
