Galaxy DX Meter Off After Tuneup..

I don't see how a large shop (that do lots of radios) would skip checking there equipment. and I left DTB a message and since I'm in PA that made the most sense. What stinks also is my new co-workers 949 from CB world (which he is picking up tomorrow from me) is acting the same way on the front...

Galaxy DX Meter Off After Tuneup..

What I heard was that CB world is supposedly a reputable company.. I don't see how they would possibly mis-tune 2 radios.. (or numerous others over the years and no ones said anything online at all about it????) The only tools I have are my little external meter and basic tools.. Can I just...

Galaxy DX Meter Off After Tuneup..

I got a DX-929 tuned/peaked up from CB world (wearecb) before they shipped it. The internal meter is reading higher than it should for deadkey. I get a 6w on lowest setting with knob and over 18w on 3/4 setting. and the 18+w deadkey with the power knob turned 3/4 way up.. After...

Got my Galaxy DX-929.. thing kicks.. maybe too much.

Tested again. I used the external PDC1 swr/pwr meter. I set radio at 6-7w key using that meter. Knob is at 1/4 way up. At 1/2 turn the external meter says hair below 10 w on deadkey. I'll stick with 6-7 watt DK. The internal meter on watt/power setting seems off. It says on low power 6w and...

Got my Galaxy DX-929.. thing kicks.. maybe too much.

Follow up.. I hooked up my PDC1 external meter. Got 3 1/2 w on low power and 9-10 w when turned up.Thinking the NGP antenna on my house may be giving me faulty built in meter errors. Tested in truck with normal antenna.

Got my Galaxy DX-929.. thing kicks.. maybe too much.

So how accurate is the power meter on Galaxy radios? I'm getting this at lowest DK on built in meter.. which looks like a 5-6w. An with the power knob 2/3 way up I'm getting this for a DK.. I don't get much power swing with the higher number.. In modulation mode I hit 70-100 modulation...

Got my Galaxy DX-929.. thing kicks.. maybe too much.

So I was on the fence for a new CB. My last was a Cobra 25 back in 2002.. which got tossed in trunk of car and got wet/rusty.. I was tossing around AM or SSB/AM radios because a co-worked wanted a CB again.. My co-worker wanted a Galaxy DX-949 with SSB.. but me on a budget opted for the...

    Sharp CB-800 Tune/Peak Help..

My uncle left me an old Sharp CB-800 (23 channel) and on the web it says L302/L303 for power and R112 for modulation.. (others say R110 and T304).. I opened it up and.. well I don't know where to find these 'pots'. Can anyone on here whom may have one (or something with the same board) open...
