Gather ye radios while ye may

So happy that I already have 2 radios that are older and both work. I am kicking around the idea of picking up a 3rd just because..... Need to see about getting in touch with the guy who has it.

    Needing a bit of help

So, I can figure that this thing is, let's say, about 42 years old with little to no issues until a few years ago... I think I will see about rebuilding it, or at least replacing the older caps that are looking bad, the relay (providing I can find one that doesn't cost a small fortune), and see...

    Needing a bit of help

The bumper pull is about 8' away from the antenna, the gooseneck will be about 4' away. This radio doesn't get down to 26.515, unfortunately. I do like the idea of...

    Needing a bit of help

I adjusted the dead key until it keyed the amp 9/10 times, then measured the radio output. I would love to have it key at 1/4 watt.

    Needing a bit of help

I run my Grant XL at 2 watt am dead key. And never had a problem until a couple of years ago when that cap blew. I would not be surprised to learn that this amp is 30-40 years old.
