    11 meter silence

From what I can tell, & have been hearing, it will get better. This past week I have heard New Mexico, Texas, Florida, one station from New Zealand, & a station from Sao Paulo Brazil. Skip has been getting better lately, it does seem to be sporadic though. Last year at this time I didn't hear...

    11 meter silence

I'm out here on the left coast, most of the local dirt haulers in my area run on 17 am, a few run on 38 am, they say they just want to get away from most of the others & Spanish bleed over. Occasionally, if traffic is really bad someone will key up on 19 & ask about it. There are only a few of...

    Best FCC CB Radio?

I had thought about the 148f, then went to check frequency counter. Saw it only went to 5th place not 6th.. So, I went to my personal preference. Grant Xl with 6 digit frequency counter. I know some people swear that a 148 is the BEST old school mobile radio. I just prefer the Grant Xl. I...

    Best FCC CB Radio?

That is what I'm well on my way to. Already have the Xl, & small amp. Need to pick up frequency counter & upgrade the coax. Right now, I'm extremely happy with the set up, & the work done!

    Best FCC CB Radio?

I know what you mean. I have two Grant Xls, I spent enough getting one then having recapped, aligned, & tuned to buy two 980s. Working on getting enough saved back up so I can send the other one out & have it worked on, & pick up two frequency counters to hardwire in.

    Best FCC CB Radio?

Look into Uniden Grant Xl. Hardwire the frequency counter that RT431 posted a pic of. Then you have fcc type accepted & the frequency counter. I had one get away from me more than a few years ago & I'm sorry that it did.

What is the SSB mobil CB these days.

I know more than a couple of guys who are running that 980. They all sound clean, no drift, put a good power Mic on it & they sound clean & loud. I've been a fan of Uniden since I picked up a Grant XL years ago. Running a Grant Xl now. If you can find one for the right price that isn't totally...

Design or modify a radio...wishlist thread.

Hmmm, how about Uniden Grant Xl ( just kinda stuck on the look), ham quality, frequency counter, frequency capabilities 26.400-28.000, dual clarifier, remote head would be interesting.

Comments Disabled as always BBi and MMM

MMM is very laidback & mellow. Never gotten the chance to meet him, only briefly chat over the air with him as I was passing through his locale. Hear him more than a few times on the air as he does have quite a bit of power. Then again, so does BBI. Pretty sure it was him a few weeks back that...

SBE Console V, Cobra 2000 GTL or Tram D-201 Which One

Used to have a Cobra 2k many years ago, everyone always said it was a good clean sounding radio. It also had more extra channels than everyone else around me had, unless you had 10m export. Wishing I'd never let that one slip away.
