Hello I read your post with interest.
I was the first guy who did a Youtube review video in the UK(infact four videos). I had operators North, South,East and West of me upto 25 miles away. Infact we had a three way video at the same time to show there was no "Blagging" and fiction.
Now I...
I know Penn very well am surprised at his findings (but there has been a link from my videos to his since he did them).Again not everyone finds the same.........but all the SGM owners around here have the same results as I found. By the way my ground is very sandy with bed rock not too far...
Scott 2CT4040 is in our DX Group and a very good friend of mine, this video gate shows to me that the GM is competing with many stations that I bet are running far greater power......40 over "S" 9 is not too shody, even under "Skip" conditions.
Top video.....can't beat seeing results......the way forward Marconi.....that was the reason I did my videos...plus filming both ends at the same time defeats the people crying cheat as well. Keep up the good work......very enjoyable reeding and now Watching!!
Why would you mount an antenna lower in a "Real World" situations Marconi??....it wants to be in the sky, not low surely........in summer I'll crank my tower up and the SGM will have its tip at 105 feet from the ground.
What having a development team with university degrees in RF technology and a $1 million USD shielded anechoic test chamber is not enough proof??.....also I don't understand this "lets mount the feedpoint at the same height stuff".....this antenna is designed to work as it does to let you put it...
I think the issue here is the Sirio Gain Master does NOT use the pole as part of the antenna. The pole is just a mounting point and is not connected at all.
The RF Choke as we will call it decouples the antenna fron the feedline also.
So I think a metal, alloy Fibreglass or a pole made of...
Thanks for your comments.........it's certainly been an interesting couple of Months trying and seeing others results. Like you say every one won't see the same results but I think in general most have not been unhappy with the SGM.I'm in the same mind as you it's how it works in real life that...
To be honest Marconi I'm surprised to find out your findings against the SGM with the A99.
I have two local stations who have "swoppped out" an A99 with a SGM on the same pole/location/feeder, and both have seen well over one "S" unit increase in both RX and TX .
I can see you have put a lot...
Well my Gain Master is mounted above three stacked Ham band Yagis on a steel lattice tower and works superbly...check out the first video!.........Happy New Year WWRF guys:thumbup:...Dave in the UK.
Thanks
It's very nice for somebody to praise the many hours spent by the WWRF guys and others who have spent many hours testing this antenna. I was the first in the UK and indeed spent 4 weekends conducting my review/tests on the Sirio Gain Master.I'm also the member who put four in depth...
Well I had the same here........I had mine up to 600 watts FM keydown into an Antenna Solutions digital power meter thats nearly £400 worth and far more accurate than a £50 CB unit. The main reason was the SWR alarm function to be honest I took 2 hours to build mine as i'm a bit OCD with tape...
I tried mine "In band" with no ATU........I was thinking the same thing Mate , maybe Simon would tell you his "Conditions" if you asked him.To be honest I can't see him running a tuner. Most people I know use very modest power on UK CB on their SGMs and up until the other night I only run 80...
Ask away Fella!!!......The UK Waving A Hand!!!!!
I for one don't have an issue with questions on the CT site......and I'm a very early member (N0 10 out of over 600). I think the first thread was shut down as it went off topic a little. As you see a second thread is going strong. As for...
A99
This guy I know well, Penn who's a Ham. He sent me the video....and I linked it to mine. It's very puzzling as I have two Mates who swopped an A99 with a SGM (same pole feeder ect ect) and they have seen a great improvement over the A99. Penn said he wasn't too happy with his test and is...
CB Radio and Bullshit??........your Joking right??
Hello George, indeed a lot of CBers (unlike the WWRF and CT group I add) believe some of these stupid claims . I know many Hams and CBers and most of the ones I know listen to the facts. The main gripe i've had ,was after my tests (and yes...
Big Buck antennas
Yes Booty Monster indeed it was these two I was thinking about. Before it's pointed out to me I agree the i10K and Mr Coily are superb built antennas .With power ratings second to none. I still would love to try either and I understand real quality costs..........I am a...
