Mine out of the box was under powered and undermodulated. Follow the tips here and it will help boost your signal. Ultimately it is Mother Nature that will be your best contributor to skip ! ! That radio is solid......just not very modifiable for frequencies, which is why mine sits sidelined...

I installed one in a Cobra 148GTL, (Vintage Version). It works great. There was LOTS of info available on that install......but I never saw anything relative to the Teaberry. Good luck ! When you get it installed you'll appreciate its capabilities.

That looks like standard switches / controls on any meter I've ever seen. It should operate as any other similar meter.

I have one as well running a whole variety of radios in my shack with NO problems whatsoever. Heck of a bargain !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That one I have no experience with. Best to contact Les and ask him for guidance. He was always more than helpful with tech support during my installs. Good luck !

Well, I work for GE now and I wouldn't have one. Its a collector's craze. No real performance included in that price.

Here in North Mississippi its quiet EVERYWHERE. If it wasn't for skip, (which has died off here big time), I'd have nothing to listen to.

I have the K40 trunk lip mount. I've been a bit disappointed in the SWR I get with it. 1.8 is as low as I can get it. I've had a couple before and was able to get it much lower.....like 1.1 - 1.2 range. It might have more to do with the vehicle it is on.

My decal was peeling up before I took it out of its plastic packaging......geez.

That radio is not marketed or sold in the U.S. It is available from several sellers in Europe however. Prices are high and you have to find a shop willing to sell to U.S. residents. I was able to get one from ThunderPole in the U.K. (you can Google them and find their site) Mine...
