hes way overpriced... he tried to charge me 300.00 (he lowered it to 180.00 after i bitched a fit) to redo a Johnson 4740 mobile and it came back to me still not fixed... Ill never do business with him ever again. I can see spending that much on an HF rig but NOT a 40 CH CB set........

Not hacking as some of those mods are enhancements... You must be one of those guys that takes a radio out of the box and uses it and never does a thing to it... You probably think power mics are hack too......... LMAO!

Dude you are so right! These new uniden radios are cheaply made and are NOT tech friendly. They are a toss it in the trash radios that cannot be fixed by most techs as its all SMT. Plus you cant do much with them as far as mods and enhancements... Ill stick to my old school stuff..........

I talked to lescomm and he said it was a posting error as Uniden has NOT discontinued the radio......

I own an RCI 3900 and it works SLICK!!! I also own a magnum S9 and in comparison to the RCI 3900 the 3900 IMHo just seems to work better. I have a problem with the S9 reciever acting funky. The S meter will only show an s5 when my local buds key up(one guy is 10 miles from me and he usually...

I remember seeing the verison that looks like the Cobra 148 GTL. That verison i did have for a very short peroid of time in the mid 1990s. It worked great and was exactly the same as a Cobra 148 GTL!!!!

Well that makes me want to keep my early 1980s Cobra 148 GTL even more!!! I see the older ones going for quite a bit of moolah on Ebay. Im keeping mine!:D

I have a TR7 and so far i love it. It has 3 filters and does every bit of 200 watts output. Anybody else run a TR7 and what do you think of it???
