So I found a Cobra 148 GTL on Craigslist, it looks a little beat up but the guy only wantshows 50 bucks for it, I have a local shop that has been in business for quite a while. Should I pick up the radio and have it gone over? Or should I pass ?

At the moment I was going to just use what I have, which is the 5000 trucker that I bought like 20 years ago. I have children and they aren't cheap lol, so I am trying to get into this with ad little funds as possible.
