Anyone know how to hifi the 148/2000 platform without loosing sideband? I have a gentleman I know thy wants the sound but doesn't want to lose sideband when you direct inject your procesing gear.

I would stay away from a battery charger. It never hurt to buy more than what you see amperage wise. Adjustable voltage is nice but not a have to option. Astron makes nice supply's I've had mine for many years and no problems.

And percentages of modulation has nothing to do with anything . Mod can be in the 200% range cleanly but most would say 150 or less is the better way and most radios will not produce clean mod past 80% without some modding .

Sounds like a bad coax end or jumper. Check your ends I got brand new coax ends and they were sloppy as hell and gave me fits. With your meter out of line wiggle all your coax ends and see if your radios receive changes at all just because coax is new doesn't mean it's good. You may have a...

RFX 75's are junk period. If you want a good setup a good clean cobra radio with a decent tune and an external amp and you'll be rockin. People think those RFX 's are the best thing ever. Everyone I've known to have one has pulled them off and went back stock because they took a crap.

And forget what they say about 130% they might do that but not clean you'll be lucky to get more than 80-90% clean mod with out some work. 130% on that radio will look like crap on a scope

They are splatter boxes the remove the tvi trap slug along god knows what else. Those radios are snake oil and mirrors don't waste your money.

I still say cobra, They at cheap for starters mods are cheap and plentiful they get more watts on freq and when done right They will have that killer audio that not all blown out sounding like an export will.
