Yes I know that but really WHO CARES?
I don't care if Hams on VHF(144-148) use the business (150mhz) to communicate with logging trucks in order to avoid and accident, I don't care if a CB'er uses the 10m band responsibly, I don't care if somebody uses a 100watt amplifier.
Problems only arise...
I also agree with you and @Mudfoot: CB is king.
I could never understand why some people look down at it, and trash talk the CB band. Sure there are “bad apples everywhere” but also a good bunch of people. In general, nobody talks trash about VHF, 10m(which by the way is a CB band with a...
Don't worry Andy! I have said that before as well but I never actually threw a radio out. There is always somebody that might get started in the hobby plus, even if the radio doesn't work, there are techs that could use it to work out some of the faults with it or use the parts for another...
That is so true. Funny thing, I said the exact same thing myself(I pointed at the steel barrel that I have in the back yard and told the guy I rather put it there and burn it). One time a teenage couple came to look at some camper parts I had for sale and let them have whatever they wanted(...
That could very well be the case! Not to mention the fact that there are so many scammers out there. Just list something for sale on your local classifieds (and places like craigslist) and you'll get 1 legit call out of 10

Right, you have to add tax and shipping on top of that(wait, also duties if we are talking international shipping). On the flip side I wouldn’t need an antenna since I sold the truck to buy the radio.
Unreal, unreal, unreal...... .

Well said Slomover, and that's exactly what some of us are trying to avoid. "Many race to the store only to find the doors chained up and the shelves empty"; too late!

Couldn’t agree more Slowmover! Plus, even in Canuckistan, i don’t know who is the genius(government employee, of course) that assigned some of those frequencies. Truckers that do heavy haul need the “bush channels” 150’s MHz and road 154 MHz and up, but they put 167 and 174 in there. How do you...
Doesn't sound crazy to me! It is reality. I always rather be prepared for nothing than the alternative!
@Slomover is right about the pastor as well; don't forget that the church is a sacred place and there are some good pastors, in my area as well(one in particular, stood up to intimidation by...
I am using the same logic to justify buying a 959 as well.
With everything going on, you just don't know when it will be too late: Not available, Out of stock, Components shortage to build them... Discontinued?
When you have it you have it and the "extras ones" can also be used for trading(if...
Yes, I have heard good reports about the Lincoln II (also available locally for me) but it can't be the only radio!
Everybody needs at least one classic looking CB (for the addicts it will be more than one, of course). There is something about having all the knobs and the classic vintage look...
This one is in Ontario. I will see if I can post a link.
It’s posted on kijiji Canada. I talked to the guy because I am also in Canada.
If I can help I will!

Here 828 this is the GRANT LT I was talking about. I emailed the guy and he sent me some pictures. The LT is a front-mic and he said it was aligned and tuned plus a ton of channels!

You are 100% right Slowmover! Looks like, right now, the 959 has no competition it is IT.
UNIDEN and COBRA faded away in so many ways:
Faded away from QUALITY
Faded away from SIDE-MIC
Faded away from SSB
What's left???
