    COBRA 2000 GTL

Well, that's part of it, but, the main thing is the fact that it's solid performer and the units were built like steel ships. As for the Cobra 148 thing, yes it's pretty much a 148 board, but, a Cobra 148 now days is nothing like the cobra 148 of yester year. So, you either buy a new galaxy /...

question about whistler 900 cb radio

The whistler units had an extremely short production span, they were very prone to parts failures and came with many issues fresh out of the box. If you have one that works, then make the best of it. If it don't work, sell it as a door stop or throw it in the can.

rfx 75 in cobra 29 ltd

The most you are ever going to see out of a Cobra 29 with a RFX75 is about 55-60 watts, you have to first understand "what" the RFX75 is. It is not an "amplifier" is a "final replacement" (with too damn many wires in the first place) Basically what the RFX75 unit does is take your stock finals...

NEED HELP WITH 2007 DODGE CARAVAN CB INSTAL

If that's all you're gonna have for a radio and amp, go with the wilson 500 or 100, a 5000 is too much for that little radio.

    home-brew noise filter

The best home made noise suppressor filter I have ever constructed is a basic simple design, small transformer and a 1000uf Cap. Mount in side of the radio inline with the radios power wire, adds a great deal of suppression to the line noise.

    Radio Problem

Yeah I would agree, you'd best off to buy a nice compact radio with some butt if you want something small and compact, cobra 19's or cobra 21's or even a good old cobra 77X would be the best investment, those cobra 75 are not much.

    Funny things heard on CB

well I don't know about funny things I hear on the radio but, the damndest thing I have heard on this work bench was a past customer shipped me a radio for repair and he told me that his RX was really low and he could hardly hear anyone, he thought maybe a receive gain amp might help... so...

    What's a good price?

The Cobra 2000 units came with a single speaker, but, some guys have bought a second speaker for the stereo look, it does little for the price of buying used, since there is only one external speaker jack. But Rat Shack can solve that problem.

    COBRA 2000 GTL

Switch Kit, I'm not here to start any trouble, but, I will say that you are fighting a losing battle, I think you have a great self-opinion about the matter, but, I don't think your opinion is going to be held to a high regards, especially with the way the products' demands are trying to be met...

    2SC2020 vs 2SC1969 - which is better?

I use either stock 2078's or I have a bucket full of IRF520 kits here. For the price and output performance, use the stock 2078 if you want some added few watts go with the IRF520 upgrade, I got both here if you need one.

    Cobra 25GTL

I have a 25 gtl here as a parts units, I can't see the actual number on it but, just replace it with a 1n4002 or a 1n4007 or anything in between, it's not a critical part so any of them will work just fine.

    COBRA 2000 GTL

Well, I guess with the cliche's you've puked up here, basically what you're saying is, you have no longer have a standing argument. I've worked on many, and I many, of the newer base stations, all repair services, but, all I've ever done to Cobra bases is modifications. I'm starting to get the...

Pin 1 = Modulation Pin 2 = Shield Pin 3 = Receive (RX) Pin 4 = Ground Pin 5 = Transmit (TX) This is the Cobra 5 pin Not sure of how your mic is wired, but, most of those mics are pretty standard. 1 - GROUND SHIELD - BLACK 2 - AUDIO - WHITE / YELLOW 3 - TX - RED 4 - RX - BLUE

    COBRA 2000 GTL

You 110% got that got that right. I have several newer units that I refuse to even accept for repairs anymore, simply because they are not worth the time to even set on the bench, give me a Cobra 2000, and I'll spend hours on it if need be.

    Switch in roger beep board

Good Lawd, I done heard it all now LMAO. Yeah that's a great idea... then when you turn the power off to the board you turn off the transmit and receive for the radio off too, since the board is powered and the transmit and receive run through the board. Run a SPST toggle inline with the Audio...
