I might pick up 2 of these now knowing they are not originals. I have not called him yet so if any of you are wanting one to try let me know in the next few days and I will get you one if I can. It would be 25 plus shipping.
You are right. I don't know anything more than I learn on here and read from a few others. I am just going by what these guys are saying and they have done real world testing. Either will get your signal 15000 miles down the road with some help from mother nature and thats all that really...
Thanks for the info. I wasn't aware there were cheaper ones made after francis sold. I will do some more checking before I jump. I would buy you beer if you were here!
It says it has no advantage on toa and has less signal going upward but no more in the lower lobe. What am I missing? Like I said at the start both very good antennas but the quad does not have more gain as far as these experts see it A little less in fact Cebek is well respected and I my...
That's not what the first paste up states. As far as takeoff angle. And in my simple mind 2 quarter wave dipoles has the same amount of element as one half wave. Am I missing something.
I am on the iPhone now and don't want to mess with pasting on it but google tom raunch quad yagi and you will see many bands have been tested. Says nothing about multi band. What he said was a quad is just 2 stacked quarter wave dipoles. It also says antenna modeling software doesn't take into...
I have't done any real world testing. Have you? Im not stating anything but these guys have tested and they have some respected names as far as the subject goes. Cebek,Overbook. W8jI also says a yagi is little better from all I've seen him say on the net...
Thanks my friend. I told the guy l wanted them. Going to get up there next week. He also has some siltronix and pal vfo if anyone is looking. Slim I'm sure shipping would be a pain but if your wanting one I would make sure you got one for your trouble and thanks.

They don't make these anymore but did work well if you can find one.

Cubex sell quads so I don't think they would say yagi antennas are better would they. Both are almost equal. Yagi's take bad weather better. Thats why I run a 5 element yagi.
Davis rf buryflex is what I use. Flexable and the outer covering is bulletproof. Not really but you get it, Great stuff and as the name implies it can be buried underground.
I talked to the Virgin Islands yesterday. Talked to Red Fox also at 212 miles. I don't mind DX cooling off abit and talking some shorter distances. Talking 200 miles is harder than 5000 miles.
I was going by the info on the site I was looking at as I had never heard it. The site said it was a transistor amp only good for one band but I believe you. I think I still made my point as far as slang in ham radio. Ham is even slang. I just think some ham ops need to calm down and just have...
Amateur radio slang terms
Boat anchor
Brick
Elmer
Cans
Rock Bound A amp with transistors. Are there rocks inside that thing or what?
Home Brew
Wall paper
I guess cb radio ops are not the only simple people in radio,
Just type in amateur radio slang and you can find a few 100 more I'm sure.
Can...
