Tell me how this is possible on a shorter boom? Did they use fairy dust on them. Just because its writen on paper dosent make it true. There is no way either antenna is doing the gain they say they will. But it sells antennas. Most companies do fudge the numbers. My 5 element maco claims 15.5...
Maco I would think would have alittle more gain. Even spaceing and a short boom will cost some gain. And 3 elements vrs 4 are a compromise. A local runs a giz and it talks good but I like maco better. Just my opinion. Im talking a giz vrs a dual polarity maco. Ive been told a 4 element giz talks...
I love the legs on that gamma match. I bet its a perfect match for me but the wife wouldnt like it lol. The girl in the photo either for that mater lol!
Vert was working better than flat. Have their call numbers in the shack but just wanted to give a heads up. Spelled it wrong above. I ment australia lol.
You do have it hooked to a power sorce dont you? Its true pep and needs a 12 volt supply to run it. I run mine off a 12 volt 1 amp supply. Only pulls 770ma.
I run one and like it real well. I dont use the light real often because a friend has one and his burned out so I have a small gooseneck light on top of it. I know im lazy. You should be very happy with it.
Mine works great! Been using it lately. 10 to 30 watts dk 180 watts pep AM. 100 watts SSB. Does take afew mins to warm up but then its stable. They do need a fan if long winded. I use mine one the base I even get great reports on SSB. Ive heard it on some gates and it sounds great. But GLR is...
Its been tuning my base amp so far. 300 watt dk 1200 pep the way im running my amp now. If it blows I go out and buy a bigger one lol. Dont take long to tune a amp your used to tuning.
I do use a fan. But thanks for the tip! I have 2 lasko task fans that come in handy for amps, radios and I guess now dummy loads. Its the top one. I have two.
Cool Tools: Lasko Pivoting Task Fan
I would not leave dow bathroom cleaner on to long either. Also works great on motors with grime on them. Learned about it when I raced BMX as a kid around the chain and sprockets .
Got one from the ham station in evansville indiana the other day. Works well for my station and not a bad price. Never had a dummy load before and I like it. Just cant key up real long but it dont take long to tune the amp. So far its a keeper. Anyone else using one?
