When it decides to transmit a “buzz” I’ll hear it on the cobra. I’m at work right now but, I’ll get on it as soon as I get home.

Alright so the radio receives apparently as well. Sorry for switching the diagnosis already. So currently it receives and doesn’t transmit.

It makes a hum-buzz just like you said.

On top of that it isn’t consistent either. My voice isn’t heard. I have a little cobra 36 st I use to hear myself with when I’m checking my audio

Another update, I was wrong on the transmit. When I key down I get a buzz.

Yeah I got a good mic on it. I have the external speaker on. I still get the “pop” when the radio powers on. Last I checked it was still transmitting. This is my first radio I’m trying to fix myself with minimal tools and just a dosy meter. Gotta learn some how.

quick update it’s From 1994 apparently.

I have an old Philippine Uniden pc76xlw with no audio at all. I’m thinking I need to get an audio chip. I can’t tell which one it is. Anybody know which one is needed?

I bought an antenna earlier thinking it was a maco V58 but, I guess folks are calling it a 0-5 or something. Either way I put it on a short pole to set the SW and it seems to work well. I took it back down for weather proofing. What kind or grade of silicone should I use to keep rain out?

I completely forgot this thread! Sorry. Anyway I got the Radio working. I ended up calling myself a dolt for not realizing I had a switch flipped after I added 2 extra mics. Anyway to sum it up. I learned when something doesn’t make sense, just get some dang sleep. LOL Thanks for the help...
