What works real well is the " Fold Down " 110 inch whip.
made with a Hustler Folding Shaft and a cut down stainless steel whip.
(that's what the loop body brace is for) the SWR stays at 1.3 to 1.5 at max
power out. Thread in different whip lengths for freqs you need to work...
Your right, sometimes it gets tight, you just have to go slow and easy.
the H2 was not made to follow Wranglers which could almost get through
any trail. The Hummer is a wide beast, sometimes every inch counts (if you
want to keep the paint looking good)

I've watched many "Off Roaders" with trucks built much tougher than
a nearly stock H2. and sometimes they don't drive back.
if i can go around a mud puddle, or rocks i do.
the stock chassis on the H2 is not too bad, it has a half cage protecting the drive
shaft but it still has vulnerable...
It is not easy to follow a " H1" off road. thats when the radios come in handy,
i just radio ahead to let them know that i'm not too far behind.
the front-end on the H2 is an " Achilles Heel ". the one i drive is a 2003
and i am on my 3rd front-end and four sets of rubber ..........
