I love it when you and kale come out here preaching that you read the Arrl Book, you first have to understand what it is saying reading it does no good.
Then you make a post that contradicts what you read in the book. You just said longer wave beats shorter, yet somehow your magic cap hats...
I dont understand Swedish but I do understand when 2 antennas are so close to each other they will act as one.
Take that test and flush it down the toilet. It's full of crap
Jazz right on, 18' is exactly what you state it to be a impedance transformer.
Doc I think it has been to long since you hit the books I see far to many errors in alot of your posts.
His SWR, not swrs wont change from am to fm to ssb. The way it is read by some meters will when you modulate you throw the meter out of calibration thus showing a different reading. Why even attempt to try it on SSB with a steady tone etc when AM is available just throw a deadkey on Am calibrate...
You don't need sheet metal , I as well as a few others told you what you can do for a cheap easy fix that works. Line the top and the sides with it and bond it to the chassis with sheet metal screws and washers right into your bed, make sure the ground of your antenna mount is grounded to this...
I told you before what you need to do to the inside of that cap, you have no ground plane to work against, that 4" piece of aluminum is doing squat. Get some chicken wire fence and put do the whole inside of the camper top attaching the chicken wire to ground.
Henry, I agree with what you say, when you provide facts and good theory the truth it is hard for anyone to argue. No matter if they like the person delivering the message or not...:tt2:
He was comparing the data from his last test with this one, you think there beams are in the exact same location? and if you read it alot of the guys he tested are using beams, again do you consider that a valid comparison?

When you can add something constructive to the thread do it otherwise just sit there and beg for free info as usual.
No one likes being told they are doing something the wrong way. To bad though that is called "peer review", go look it up. This is a open forum where people all over the...
You keep can keep going round in circles with your tests, I am glad you finally use only 1 antenna ... " I" myself personally have done thousands of hours of testing you can believe it or not, ask Bob85 he knows enuff of what I do or anyone who knows me knows this to be a fact and my results...
How is he going to check the pattern? with the s meter? or by ear? talking to guys he has no idea where they are from? Unfortunaly to me more uncontrolled testing solves nothing excepts add more variables to the mix.
Don't you think if he connects both antennas together whether they are...
