    JDR Instruments model 3500

Thank you and yes I will try to use it as it is .... not that I know just how to use it correctly but if others can learn, so can I. Both ground wires were connected and then cut .... I suspect that someone has tried to treat a symptom and not solve the problem. Probably to make the sale ...

    JDR Instruments model 3500

Thank You for some thoughts on this scope, any thoughts on the 2 cut wires .... think a guy should reattach or leave it be? They start at the housings of the position pots, I am not sure what if any difference reconnecting them would have. Would a recap be a good idea, they all look good to the...

Maybe no one has heard of these ... It did blink a couple times, not sure why, I have no training in oscilloscope I was looking around inside and found a mystery. Not sure why any one would cut what appears to be a ground wires from the position pot on both channels leading to one of the boards...

    JDR Instruments model 3500

Has anyone here had any experience with this make and model? It appears to work on both channels at least when connected to my signal generator, it arrived Thursday but I've been putting all new springs on my F-150 so the scope took a back seat till that was finished. I located a manual but it...

    Cobra 142GTL recap

Thank You, Very enlightening. I have the copies of the 142 info from CB Tricks but was unaware of the TRC 450 .... after looking at it the values of the electrolytics for C79 and C108 in the 450 those are exactly what I removed from the 142, makes me wonder why the difference from Cobra to...

    Cobra 142GTL recap

I do like that idea but in this little town of 3800 souls in the middle of nowhere I think I'm the only one that's into 11 meter .... excepting a few kids with radios in their pickups (more power to em). When I put up the Maco V58 I think half the town drove by to see what I was up to, the...

    Cobra 142GTL recap

I agree, the schematic is the best reference. I am no electronic engineer but I do know how to solder, how to replace parts and how to follow instruction. I guess my biggest question is why would someone take out a mylar and replace it with a polar electrolytic ... is there some secret in doing...

    Cobra 142GTL recap

Seeing as I still have some time on my hands waiting for parts and gainfull employment. I started recapping my 142 .... All went well untill I got to a place where I had to pull a cap to ID it, after removal it read C108 with no plus mark so I looked it up the B O M and it says 0.022 uf 50v...
