I should be all 10-4 now, pressed the board in certain spots, and it started rxing again! Put the case back on and it started all over again. The hot spot's solder is pretty dirty so I'll take it apart and hit it with some contact cleaner. If that doesn't work permanently, then I foresee some...

I'm going to fire it up with the solder side open, and press the board to see if there's any cold solder joints. I noticed when I was frustrated I banged on it a couple times and the sounds it made were a little different. A few rows of solder look pretty rough.

I couldn't find them I did find the audio ic, but no caps in the ranges exit listed. Also, I'm not entirely sure how to test them. I do have a multimeter, but that's about the extent of my testing equip.

I found the caps exit mentioned in this schematic, but i cannot find anything labeled in the 200s on my board. idk if the 250 is maybe different than the 250cxl? this model has the esp2 switch, which I'm a little suspicious about too.

I have, a speaker, headphones, and the aux input on my stereo. same thing. it sends the hum through all of those as well so its not the speaker. its a very faint hum, but as soon as you adjust the sq, it goes away and just silence.

yessir. and I have a cobra 19 ultra lll hooked up now that works so the coax is fine as well.

I've also taken the mic apart to inspect wiring or if it was sticking some, but it all looked pretty clean in there.As well took the mic cord connector apart to check for wear but again, appears fine.

I am, but I've also tried jumping the mic tx and rx connection pins on the radio. Even then it will still tx with an acceptable swr, but still no signal rf noise.

Not sure what to check from here, other than tearing into the case and inspecting for anything burnt that's audio related. if the finals were burnt, not only would rx go out, but I wouldn't be able to tx at all though, am I correct?

Only my speech when I plug my external into the port. Theres no static or interference in pa mode. My tx is crisp on my scanner so thans no issue, just rx not working.
