    Had a new 7505 a while back. With proper input drive, it sounded like a raspy class c box. Maybe the bias circuit was misadjusted or faulty. And lots of RF was floating on the DC power leads flipping my Astron out. The schematic shows .01 caps but no chokes on the power leads.

    Had a first revision grant II. Receiver audio was fatiguing due to poor agc response and no bottom end to the receiver audio. To much front end receiver gain too. TX audio sounded robotic.

    I bought a Galaxy VI from Copper in 1989. It was DOA out of the box. I recall it having a Ranger EPTX11B board in it. LC7131 PLL. The Galaxy V had the same board. I think the Galaxy IV had a Uniden 142 board in it.
