I for one want to know about the "bugs" and if newer versions have resolved the issues!
Wish I had known you had one...just got rid of an original K40 SP mic...I would have sent it to ya gratis
Well, heck...I think even I could figure out the conversion
I keep checking to see if there has been a release date, including with local Icom dealer...Nobody can give an answer. I also guesstimated cost in the 1500 to 1800 range... we'll see! Just wish they'd get the OK and start selling them in the US.
Im glad I haven't been able to buy one just yet for the bug issues of being fairly fresh on the market. I saw cbradiomag's update on the display issue and am glad Univercom or whoever stepped up to the plate to take care of the little issues.
Unlike the old salt Ham's I unfortunately don't...
I do like the looks and basic classic look & feel of the Superstar but I like the CRE, and others for the software capabilities...but out of the different radios the CRE has my top billing at this point.
Turbo tax isn't a problem...its getting the Mrs last W-2 and finding all the paperwork...
I really would like to get one! From the first time I watched CBradioMag videos I've been watching and waiting for $$ to come down but it sure hasn't moved much. I hope I can get one in few weeks if I get anything back from taxes...hopefully
I've made a couple dipoles and they worked very nicely on the Rx side but I didn't have a good way to string them up so I've been using a Sirio D27 dipole for the past few months. I like it being a solid antenna with the flexibility of turning it horizontal or vertical. I had it horizontal at...
I'm in the process of re-educating myself and tinkering on my own stuff for the most part but there's a lot that I don't know and a lot I will never learn but I'm trying, reading, studying and trying. All a guy can do! I got a bunch of test equipment cheap off Craigslist long before I sent my...
Copy that! Thanks again.
In spite of all our bantering and smacking each other in the previous posts; I'm always open to other techs doing repairs or for sounding boards. Always good to have 2nd or 3rd opinions. Tim flat out tells ya he's not a repair tech he's a mod tech. And my opinion...
Other than having a small collection of old radios collecting dust for a long time...that's why I got off my butt and started back into CB's and finally got my ticket. If the infrastructure takes a big old dump, another Joplin tornado, Katrina or Sandy...what will we have to communicate? CB's...
Thanks man!
So to change this topic sorta and for me to learn more about you guys....Who's Doug? Where is he or company? Don't think I have ever heard of him.
I concede to the fact that everybody has their right to their opinions and to the fact that some folks don't like Tim, his work or his videos. OK, I'm cool and it's water under the bridge for me.
I offer my formal apologies to M42duster & Robb for anything I said that may have torked them...
Sorry Robb....To what are you referring?
I didn't come here to do anything but to converse with others, learn what I can from other sources and good old fashion conversations. What I didn't expect to find is guys bad mouthing a guy that I consider a friend. Now do I know everything about...
:bdh:
Hater...not at all. I always give the the other person the benefit of doubt. But, I do not abide by those that speak out of school for which they know not what they speak of...
Disables and deletes probably because of those that hide behind a monitor & keyboard just waiting to try...
I spent months checking around, emails and couple phone calls...trying to find the right person to work on my 2000GTL. I finally found the person to work on my radio... That was Snake Radio Customs. He did a fantastic and professional job...period. The last guy I trusted to work on my radios...
