I owned a Jacskon black face back in the day too. Nice SSB radio at the time although it did drift when heated. All have it correct though it was a dog AM wise, with very low AM modulation. The newly released unit does look to be reinvented with a new name plate.

Not sure how to answer your question but I would not think your Stryker needs a power mic.

Good luck and next time do your homework and buy from vendor that will align the radio before shipping. Just like our cars need to have a wheel alignment performed when new cause the factory can not be trusted. Some factory tolerances are to broad.

Getting the coil up as high as reasonable will give good tuning benefits. I ran the Wilson 2,000 with 18in. bottom shaft mounted on Peterbilt 379 mirrors. I run my Predator 10K with a 22in. bottom shaft on the 4 Runner, tunes real nice.
