My Cobra 148GTL Philippines model was the best I ever had. Really a solid radio and modifiable too. Got into the exports after it and all have not been as good in the signal rejection dept. My Stryker 440 isn't to bad but has lots of white noise with the incoming signal, the Cobra was clean.

Maybe you need a better antenna system. Not much to go on here.

Really a 4 pill is about all is need in a mobile cost effective wise. Even a 150 would be sufficient. An 8 pill is starting to get costly to run and for what gain on the receive end! Just bragging rights really.
