Wow they will key that much huh. I think Justin said that he sets them for 2 to 10, although on low mine keys zero but still swings out there. That's right about where I run mine 5 watts give or take due to meter error. Just under 5 watts on the radio meter.
I saw another post with the 20...
With my two most accurate I am seeing between 6 and 8 watts DK. Stryker says 10 to 12 max. I know my meters aren't as accurate at the 10 watts scale. Just wondering what others are seeing!
Sleepwalker you still here?
Well, the head installer at Clays said to try and wrap alot of tun foil around the source. I tried covering the ECM unit and the plugs into the heads with 10 layers of heavy duty foil...no relieve. Next I quess I'll get some foil tape and under the harness and try...
I get no noise from running heater fan etc. Just rf from the dam ECM unit. I have been told that it has to be stopped at the source. It's not about grounding. So I'm told by the installations experts.
Sleepwalker...Man I know how you are feeling. I am going through the same thing. Peterbilt with ACert C15 475 HP Cat, dual turbo. Great truck piece of sh-t for radio install. I have heard that their is no know cure for our problem! Just when my new Stryker was doing such a nice job into the...
Ya, thanks. It's really all moot now. I can't seem to get rid of the 7 S units of RF interference I am getting under accelration, say above 15 lbs manifold pressure. By the way this Cat Acert C15 475 hp gets 50 lbs when pushed. No use going around mutilplixer if my recieve is full of noise...
Are you running amp in the truck. I assume it's electronic motor, Cat? I got the ACert C15. What have you heard about running say a 4 pill in these new trucks with all the electronics?
Please anyone else with information please respond..Thanks
By the way I talked to the manufacture of the multiplexer device. He said that it will handle 200 cw watts. Actually will handle 250 but they recommend 200. Still it's all a piece of garbage for the serious radio enthuisist. The antannas tune in at 2.0 on ch.1 and 1.2 on 40. Fine for the...
Thats what I am thinking of doing. Just bypass the mutiplexier all together. Just such a pain to run the coax for both antennas. No wind wing on these new tractors.!
Ya well the truck owner is playing hard ball. Decide on new truck or keep old one and have big radio. Tough decision, really. I love the radio gear I got. Ya my sysem is dual, not sure how it really works yet.
Brotherman, Ok So did you system come cophased?
So are you saying,
remove one of the factory antennas?
I understand the new antenna and coax part!
Can I remove the coax from the mirror of the antenna that I am unhooking?, in other word is thre factory coax cophased harnessed?
If...
Oh Ya another great idea from the suits at the design table.
New Peterbilt 379 tractor and trailer and tubes. Has two 4 foot wound fiberglass antennas. No Stereo radio antenna!
Instead a converter of sorts. The antennas recieve both CB signals and stereo signals.
Anyone know how...
Dead key change
I experienced this once with a Galaxy 66 When holding the key down with the amp on you could watch the amps carrier climb. Would be hard to calibrate the swr meter too with amp on. It didn't do it with just radio carrier, only when driving amp. Some say it's common with the...
Update on recieve fix
Just got the radio back from Justin at FG best. Man I got to tell you that this man really know his business, He said that he did a few componant swaps. The noise floor has been greatly reduced almost non existant. Low db recieve signals are much easier to understand...
