Yeah, I was kinda thinking the same Nomad, one reason why I asked here was hoping someone was real familiar with that Ranger board. I do believe it is tuning issues and since I got it used I have no idea if anything was changed when it was swapped to HG's I guess I may have to undo that coax...
Hi all I have a few questions concerning a Ranger 69ffb4 one of those old chrome faced models with the hard to read red print. Seems to me this radio should do a little bit more then I am getting out of it as it's doing right around 275 pep on a dosy and I have seen these radios do much more...
Hello all ! I was recently given this sweet sixteen that needs alot of help ! My skills and or knowledge with the pill amplifiers lacks a bit so I am going to need a little assistance here. When I recieved this the transistors were already removed so I do not know for sure what version it is or...
I finally got around to repairing it and getting er going ! I had to replace the transformers because one started smoking so I installed a couple D&A Maverick transformers they seemed to work out fine, replace the HV caps and rectifier and made a new input tune coil for it and bam, working good !
Hi all, was wondering if anyone would happen to know what amplifier this might happen to be as I don't believe I have ever seen one before, appears to be 2- 6LQ6 driving 5-24LQ6 configuration. Has a date on the inside of the unit as 1972 . Thanks
I ended up getting this ol girls going, it was quite simple once I spent some time with it, it's a nice one ! When I got it close to done I noticed it didn't have any output and spent a little time looking over it and noticed the disc cap missing on the drive variable to the plate cap ! Hahaha
Hello, I am working on a kenrich eagle 200 that a buddy gave me that needs some help, the only schematic that I have from a member on here I believe is fairly blurry and I was wondering if anyone could tell me the value of the resistor at R11 ? Also possibly if there is a diode at D9 ? Is it...
Thank you very much Nomad ! I found the issue and it is now working again and it did have to do with the screen voltage, it appears possibly it was old corrosive Flux in behind the HV board around the wire that carries the screen voltage and the round transistor there . Thanks a ton
Well unfortunately I had this linear sitting around for awhile until I got nice new screws for the cabinet and put them all in and set it up on my radio desk and keyed it up a few times with my golden eagle mark III and it was working fine then all of a sudden it wasn't, now it has no power...
Yeah, they probably had been replaced or at least messed with. They are irf520. I did end up getting the radio working last night! Which is great the main problem was that grounding tab grounding out that disc capacitor as they had that grounding tab on the component side of the board and it...
I now have at least some power out as I found a grounding tab shorting out C221 but it still isn't putting out what it should and still not getting a ma reading off the mirror prongs
I have one I think a old dog ! But am going to have to learn more about how to use it and where to start and end to look for the rf power. I have removed the driver, finals and modulator/regulator and they checked out good along with the diodes right next to the final transistors and they were good
