I had a Finco stinger 3 element with a square boom in 1979.Great antenna and all measurement were predrilled .Wish i never sold it.

Grant's sound great with r131 clipped you can control it still with the mic gain.Also you can put a switch in to the resistor so you can run it clipped or not.Make sure you put rf beads on the line.Install a variable by using the rf gain pot to vr10 now you can adjust the dead key.

Go for the AL1200.Mine is 5 years old and going strong.

I know first hand Ameritron's run great on AUX position:).I think when they tune the amp for the AUX position it is real close to the band you want.There are tuning pots to tighten up the the AUX position if need be.
