Since you're a Sirio owner, look into the Sirio Tornado base ant. and get rid of that mobile whip. I use the Tornado, $88 shipped. Get a D104 for in the house? Nice VW!
It was a pretty friendly forum, great classified section too. Ive been a member for a couple years there, i also enjoyed helping new CBr's with issues and mods. I dont understand why to shut it down when there's many moderators there, heck....i would of helped.
The Connex you got is a duel final radio that should do around 50w pep. Have him set the low carrier at 2w, high at 10w and adjust the mic gain for whatever % modulation you need. Dont cut the limiter but have the VR turned up for max pep.
Glad its fixed but im wondering how they troubleshot Q60? Im guessing they tested every transistor in it first, then went in the audio circuit. Since its being used for a base you will get tired of picking up that stock hand mic, old school Silver eagles, Tup-9's wake up the audio on 959's.
You bought a 40 yr old item used and are complaining about tiny scuffs/scratches? Non-working is a different story, gotta ask tons of questions when bidding. .02c
Thanks everybody for the tips, i will try the few you guys pointed out. If you looked at all the old caps in this radio, you would throw up, lol. Thanks for all the advice!
