Why are you so worried about the coax when your gonna put a mobile antenna on a base?? Go with an A-99, Imax or a Maco 5000 !! Running a 102 inch mobile whip is just stupid for a base ant.
Majority of linears are dirty or splatter, cmon they are amps, lol. Just remember it starts from the source, the radio & mic. Turn your mod down when running an amp, espesially in the house.

Variable output, like on a Texas star is the output watts compared to a low, med, high buttons. Thats it, so even if it can do 400 watts, you can turn it down to 100 or whatever you want.
