gainmaster vs i10k a quick test with locals

GM I10K Marconi, The numbers you saw in my last post are for the new HGP-500. I use black dacron guy ropes from HRO its good for 500+ lbs strength. Use a hose clamp about a foot under where the antenna is mounted on my mast. I wish I still had the RS .64 antenna to compared. The thing that...

gainmaster vs i10k a quick test with locals

gM I10K GM CH 40 is 1.5 CH 1 is 1.4 CH 20 1s 1.3 Yesterday put guy lines on the support mast and grounded the mast to my grounding system, my take so far, it hears better than most of the antenna I have tested or used its quieter, still have the A99 up at 38' to the bottom that I...

gainmaster vs i10k a quick test with locals

GM I10K As promised installed the HGP-500 today, the HGP is not as heavy as the I-10K an I could get it up to 30' to the bottom of the antenna, SWR was 1.3 for 20 channels, may play with the grounds radials down the road to see if it can get it lower. At 30' works very close to what I get out...

    A99/Max2000 Poll and Discussion

A99 / I-MAX RickC I use 100' of RG213 coax on my A99 which is at 38' to the bottom and can talk on 28300-28500 11 meters 12-15, using a tuner on 17 an 20 meter using the tuner in the ICOM 7600 it works well on 10-11-12 & 15. Using a longer coax will make a stick antenna work to it full...

    A99/Max2000 Poll and Discussion

A99 / I-MAX BM, Coax and antennas both radiate, a field strength meter will show you how much at any given point or as a hole system. If your wanting to learn about antennas an antenna systems a field strength meter is a great tool to see what is happening in the antenna system. I can't...

gainmaster vs i10k a quick test with locals

GM vs 10K NB, Had not though about anything like that, I do know the polarity sometimes does make a difference! What my goal with the HGP-500 is to see how it performs at the top height I can raise it. I have data from the I-10K to compare it against the reference antenna, also want to see...

gainmaster vs i10k a quick test with locals

GM I10K edfiero, The short answer is yes, I set my own goal and everybodys goals are different. Where I live i'm 15 to 45 car miles from the stations that I talk an listen to, my goal is to hear stations on AM ground wave 50 miles away, I'm still working on this goal, but I have made a lots...

    A99/Max2000 Poll and Discussion

A99 / I-MAX BM, 1. Your First question, the coax the antenna is all radiating, by taking a field strength meter it could be plotted if you want to know! 2. Because that's what radio people do, try an make a better mouse trap, every different car or different truck that has a 1/4 wave whip...

    A99/Max2000 Poll and Discussion

Doc, Booty Monster, Doc has so eloquently stated what I was trying to get across to another CBer a while back from a practical perspective of what I believe happens on a Big Stick, A99 and I-Max antenna. By moving your feed line coax or changing its length to some degree will effect the...

IMAX 2000 VERSES THE SOLARCON / ANTRON 99

A99 @ R/S .64 Marconi, I had a R/S .64 Crossbow antenna in service from 1990 to 2002 when I lived in LV, NV talked and could hear a strong station at the state line 60+ miles away on a Cobra 2000GTL. Talk to my wife when coming back from LA to LV on inter state 15, 15 miles in to Ca on SSB...

IMAX 2000 VERSES THE SOLARCON / ANTRON 99

A99 IMAX2000 Marconi, I tried adding ground plane to both the A99 and the IMAX, a slight SWR change was noticed on 11 meters, more on other bands but that is understandable. I did not detected changes against a reference antenna on R or T on the A99 on 11 meters, do think the noise...

gainmaster vs i10k a quick test with locals

Marconi, Thanks that neat stuff, the only difference that I saw between the two antennas was on AM where the carrier on the A99 was higher than the I-10K, but under modulation both signals were the same on peaks, think if I could have the I-10k up there at the near same hight I would like to...

IMAX 2000 VERSES THE SOLARCON / ANTRON 99

T225, Tony, I use a A99 after doing direct testing of both antennas at 5-10-15-20 & 25 miles to a mobile on both T & R on 11 meters. I tested an IMAX an a A99 on 10-12 -15 -17 & 20 meters an got a shade better SWR with the IMAX over a A99 for HAM needs eather antenna is a lot of bang for...

gainmaster vs i10k a quick test with locals

I10K an MY A99 Have read a lot of what has been said on this post, Did some testing myself at this location in AZ, I use a A99 at app 38' to the bottom on a floating steel mast that is 26' long with 100' RG 213 coax, because it went up easy and stays up in strong winds! Did compare the A99 to...

HF Solid State Amplifier Price Comparison

SGC-500 Have two AMPS for HF and that does it for me one is the PW1 by ICOM its 1k but the thing I like about it most its switching network, one can switch between 4 different antennas in a flash witch is GREAT for testing and comparing antennas. the other amplifier is my Rag Chue AMP an SG 500...

CB Radio - Antenna Basics: Choosing an Antenna

11 meter antennas ROB, These post are great, can give you an example of a station I setup in LV, NV and ran for 13 years using a Cobra 2000GTL a R/S Archer .64 ground plane antenna with 100' of R/S RG8U coax and the base of my antenna was at 18' hooked to the AC on the roof, my antenna was...
