    If the IMAX 2000 is so good, why then is it spec'd at 5.9dbi versus 9.9dbi for the Antron A99? And do the groundplane kits they offer really make a difference? Firestik offers that tuneable FS99W tip to replace the A-99's tip which is considered as a worthy upgrade.

    The sun has taken its toll on the fiberglass exterior and now I have to handle it wearing thick cowhide gloves due to the glass splinters.     rfpowerman- The rear panel ID tag should have the version number on it. Mine was their second version (1.1 or something like that) . What did you sub that 2sb754 with and what final tuning methods were associated with it. Did you do that as a power mod or more out of reliability?

    Many a good post on this radio model got lost from the forum change-over. I also see that before I could reply, I had to re-register, wait for email confirm/activation too - sheesh! My radio does near 30w PEP as well. The Team Tricom 444 and Intek/Multicom 3230 are similar Euro version radios...
