Using Loc-Tite or other liquid lock?

I would but you need a metal washer on top of the nylon one (the lock washer would dig into that nylon washer after a while) and it won't all fit on the stud.

Using Loc-Tite or other liquid lock?

It's not the mount's bolts, it's the antenna coming off it's stud (that goes through the mount).

Using Loc-Tite or other liquid lock?

Hello again. I was wondering if it would be safe to use a liquid bolt locking solution to keep my antenna placed on it's mount. My antenna keeps wiggling itself loose and I've tried tightening it but I've had to replace the adapter twice because it got stripped out.

CB problems - seems to be the antenna

Thanks man. I'm extremely happy to have this all worked out. I'm setting my buddy's SWR numbers tomorrow. We don't have school until after lunch (Freshmen through Juniors are having TAKS testing, so Seniors don't have to come to school until they are done.) so I'll do it in the morning tommorow...

    At ch. 20 I'm sitting at 1.125, just a hair over 1.1! :D

CB problems - seems to be the antenna

Hey everyone. I got my ch40 down to about 1.5, but my ch1 went up a little, to about .1 or so! Why did it go up? ch1 is now slightly higher than ch40 by about that .1 or so.

CB problems - seems to be the antenna

So, will cutting some off alter my ch1 SWRs? In a good way?

CB problems - seems to be the antenna

Yes Shockwave, you're correct. It's a wound fiberglass whip. I tested out my SWRs, on Ch1 it's about 1.7, but at 40 it's just at 3  My friend's SWRs on ch1 is around 1.8 but his at 40 is maxed out.......that's a big problem right?

CB problems - seems to be the antenna

It's tunable, we just have to snip wire off of the top. I wasn't rich enough to get the lazy-man's screw type antenna

CB problems - seems to be the antenna

Alright. My friend went out today to check his SWRs and it appears he's just at 3 swr on channel 27 (he forgot to change it to 1 and/or 40). Could this be because it's not grounded good enough?

CB problems - seems to be the antenna

Mine has a meter for watts and SWRs. The "CAL" (I'm guessing for calibration) isn't there, but I'm guessing "SET" is the same thing. Since I don't have a camera, I just painted one. Oops. There's supposed to be a FWD/REF switch under the 10w/100w switch.

CB problems - seems to be the antenna

What happens if that does happen to me? Do I just have to buy a new radio? Note there aren't any CB shops around here.

CB problems - seems to be the antenna

Alright guys. I went with a friend today to pick out stuff for his CB setup. He got almost the same setup as I do (his has a little more durable coax) and his is a 3ft fiberglass antenna (going on a single cab pickup, 4' didn't look right and he wanted looks over signal I guess. He's not a...

CB problems - seems to be the antenna

For the third time.... Wow, this is the third time to try to post this. Somehow firefox crashed the first time, the second time I hit a shortcut key combination on the keyboard and closed the tab, so here we go a third time. Alright. I went and got a little washer yesterday, but it...

CB problems - seems to be the antenna

Well, I found out that the little plastic washer that goes between the mount and antenna isn't there. Could that be the problem? I made this: From our laser we use to create signs and other things. It's plastic, will it work the same as the other one did? Also, what do I do with the...

CB problems - seems to be the antenna

I know you're going to want to bitch-slap me for this, but what? How would I do this? I don't have a multimeter or anything, is that what I'd need?

CB problems - seems to be the antenna

I don't understand this, but that's what you guys are here for. Here's my story: I first got my CB a month or so ago, and was only getting a half a mile or so of range. I knew this couldn't be right, but never had time to fix it. Well here recently, my antenna was sort of knocked off it's...
