Is it possible to use a balun for mobile application with a 1/4 wave antenna like the 10k predator? Is the 10k predator on a mirror mount a unblanced antenna. will using a balun help in keeping the Rf from leaking out of a coax and causing problems with gauges and sensors in my truck?

CB shop in Eloy Az had some really long francis antennas. Don't know if it was 8' or the amazer but they seem to be at least that long. CB shop at the 203 exit. Interstate 10. I was in there the other day.

I couldn't positive but about 90% sure it's radiated. If it was conducted wouldn't it be from the hot wire or ground. I don't believe it's conducted. This installation is on a Semi-truck. so there is no ground plane per-say , unless it's ground planing off my trailer. In other words there...

If you don't know what your doing take it to a tech that knows. you can hurt yourself. Capacitors can still hold charge even when the amp is not turned on. Lots of people have died playing with there amps. Not sure if a 350hd will hold that much charge, but its better safe than sorry.

I've been told and read that a top loaded antenna is the best for a mirror mount; like one use on a semi truck. Simply because it sit up higher and can ground plane of the trailer. Bottom load antennas actually work great if you got a good ground plane like the roof of a car or truck to work...

the loudest radio on the market is the 4600 turbo. I haven't heard the 4300hp 300 yet; so I can't give an opinion on that one yet. The 4600 turbo with a 4pill fatboy is even louder; or at least get out farther so it seem louder :lol:

Its apparent that you have not see the 10k antenna its a wonderfully build antenna. that you can play with an modify to you needs. There is no welds on this antenna. I can say without a doubt that the 10k out performs the wilson. for one thing the 10k is widerbanded than the wilson 5000...
