Thanks. I was looking at the schematic. Why not just clip the wire from the mode switch, leaving a bit of the color on it, then put a small piece of heat shrink on each? Would that also work or does that wire feed or come from another circuit? I agree about the mod not required on ssb. Thats...
There were 2 crystals and a spdt switch installed in my txer. After doing some math, I found that they replaced 2 of the existing crystals to add in the extra channels to above 40 but howbit was broadbanded I think all they did was bypass the 2k plate resistor which I pulled. But 26, 31 and 36...
Just need some clarification. Does this mod only remove the ability to see your mod on the meter while protecting it, or do you lose the ssb also? Hopevthis isnt too much of a dumb question. Thanks!
Does anyone know where the retailers are getting these hg2879 transistors from? Id like to get a bunch in. Can't seem to find anything that hasn't already been marked up by US based companies.
Im wondering if a 1000pf 5% 500v in dipped mica would do the job? I see these on output transformers all the time on other linears. Is it the voltage or tolerance or both? I see that the 2290 has a semco with it. Maybe I can move that one out if its the same and replace the one on the 2290 with...
I contacted them. They dont ship to Canada from ICA and it appears that they stock what I need. They do have an ebay site and on that site they do ship to Canada but dont have the part on the ebay site inventory. So,, Im in a bit if a pickle. They stopped responding. I guess that needing parts...
Im checking with them to see if they ship to Canada. If not, maybe someone here has a matched set? Need a correct meter as well. I appreciate the response. 73s
My 667 i picked up from a guy was only putting out 250 watts with a swing input of 11 watts. I opened it up and found a 1000pf cap just loose sliding around inside. After finding a schematic, I realized that there were 2 inside attached to the output transformers. 1 per output. I hooked up the...
Im having the same problem with my early saturn. AM I see a DK that I can adjust by the VR AM power up to 12 watts then with mod 20. Mental. Sideband is the problem. DK 4 watts. Full scream with a D104 cranked to the tits and the ALC cranked as well I'm getting about 6 to 8 watts accross the 11...
I guess you dont know when to drop the rope. Whatever you say man. Not sure why this came through my email as I opted out. I suppose you're trying to get others to chome in and start conspiring. Do as you please. There are many other support circles out there than ones that have their users...
Thanks to those who offered new information. Thanks to those who thought they were helping but turned it into an english exam. With all the fakes out there, I have decided to go the mosfet route and bec done with it. The mosfets are now installed and the radio is booming. Transistors have found...
Yes. You are right. Both finals do meet up at the collector but are separate at the base by coupling caps. I could literally remove the collector and test each one that way. I've properly adjusted VR11 for 20 ma between tp 7 and 9. Ive adjusted vr10 for 50 ma. Very odd because the current creeps...
.7 volts is good on both. R271 is good. injected 2k into the mic. Scoped it both transistors appear to be equal output on my scope but one has a slightly lower input to the base. I'll change the caps and retest it. If that doesnt fit the bill I have another good powered dx99v that I can strip...
UPDATE: R271 good, L50 good, R270 good, VR20 good, there is only 2 disc caps. C209 and c208. Coupling and a decoupling. If they come out to be good that its got to be a final that is an original and meter tests good that could be somehow fooling a meter test. Or the diode. We'll see.
